DC-DC power converters allow to adapt variable voltage sources or storage to a stabilized DC grid.
Solar panels, wind turbines with rectifier, fuel cells, batteries, super-condensers, electrolyzers can all be optimized by using direct current grids which increase power converter performance while requiring less silicon. DC grids minimize transmission losses on the lines compared to alternating networks.
